Description

The Vulcan Hart 00-920325 Thermocouple 18 2030 mV 1980 Series is a thermocouple safety part in gas cooking appliances. It operates by producing a small electrical signal depending on the temperature at the flame tip and this enables the control system to sense a valid pilot flame and prevent gas flow in case the flame is lost. The thermocouple is mounted in the burner of appliances that are compatible with and is placed in such a way that the sensing tip can be exposed to the pilot flame.

Step1: Turn off gas and electrical supply and allow equipment to cool completely before starting.

Step2: Remove access panel to reach the pilot assembly and existing thermocouple.

Step3: Disconnect the old thermocouple from the gas control valve.

Step4: Install the new thermocouple, routing to avoid sharp bends or heat damage.

Step5: Position sensing tip directly in steady pilot flame for proper millivolt output.

Step6: Restore gas and power, then test ignition and confirm stable flame operation.
