The Craftsman 36941 Engine Governor Link is used to stabilize the positioning during speed fluctuations in an internal combustion motor under varying load conditions by connecting the throttle control to the mechanism, adjusting fuel flow as a condition of load changes. It is driven by mechanical linkage movement that is controlled by variations in engine demand, without electronic control systems providing a smooth mechanical governor linkage response over the range of operation of the engine.
