The Toastmaster - See Middleby Marshall A30223 Vacuum Breaker 3/4" NPT with Chrome-Plated Brass is made to provide that the water does not flow backward by letting air enter the line when the pressure decreases. It operates by automatically opening an internal air inlet when there is a backflow to ensure that there is separation between potable water and possible contaminants. This type of vacuum breaker is commonly used on water supply lines and plumbing connections on commercial foodservice equipment where backflow prevention is needed. It is made of chrome-plated brass, the internal mechanism of which is placed inside the structure and reacts to the pressure variations during operation.
