Step1: Turn off gas/electric power and allow unit to cool fully before servicing.
Step2: Remove access panel and place existing thermocouple at pilot assembly.
Step3: Unscrew and gently remove old thermocouple without damaging pilot bracket.
Step4: Install new thermocouple, secure tip near pilot flame position and tighten mounting nut.
