How to Replace Water Inlet Valve in Ice Machine?

If your ice machine is not filling the water to the level you needed then the water inlet valve should be replaced. The water inlet valve controls the flow of water in the ice maker. You might need 20 minutes of your time to complete this process if you are replacing a water inlet valve.

The tools that are required to perform this activity are a nut driver set, wrench set, work gloves. Before starting the process ensure to wear work gloves to protect your hands so that they will not be affected in any worst situation.

Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Close the water supplies. Now slowly disconnect the refrigerator water supply line. Also, place a towel underneath it. Water can be leaked when disconnecting the water valves. After disconnecting the water supply line, close the water supply cutoff valve. Now loose the below nut and remove the screws and remove the panel or the shield at the bottom of the ice machine. Also, lose the compression nut.

Remove the screws which are mounted in the bracket space and gently remove the water inlet valve. After pulling it out you will see a connection of two wires, called a harness. Detach the wire harness. Now disconnect the water supply line, which is in the fitting collar supply line, and pull the water line out. Replace the new water inlet valve.

Now push the ice maker water supply line into the valve outlet fitting. Position as the same you have removed it. Fix it with the mountain screws. Put back the compartment bracket in position or cover and fix it back with the screws. Now connect the waterline using the screwdriver. Turn on the water cut-off supply valve. Reconnect it back to the refrigerator water supply line. Turn on the power and check the flow of water.
